Educational Advocacy

I have always been an advocate for my students, but in 2025 I was accepted into the Teach+Plus program in Arkansas.  This program has helped me to extend my reach and to serve as an advocate not just for the students that I serve but for students and educators all over the state.

As part of Teach+Plus, I have published an Op-Ed titled, "Let's Make School a Place Kids Want to be."  I have been invited to speak at a conference on chronic absenteeism in Arkansas, and as a result, I was invited to be a part of the Arkansas Task  Force on Chronic Absenteeism.

I am also part of an initiative to improve Pre-K attendance, Pre-K options, and pay for Pre-K teachers across the State of Arkansas.  To find out more about Teach+Plus, click here.
